A visit to the Citadel of Beauties, presumably after numerous carvings of demi-goddesses found around the temple, is truly a must. Much smaller compared to other temples in Angkor complex, the pinkish temple is becoming more radiant at sunset.
Western archeologist calls this temple, dedicated to Shiva, a jewel of Khmer art. The locals often call this temple Isvarapura, a name of the city used to surround this temple. This quartz arenite temple, built in the 10th century is adorned by Indian style architecture and still has intricate wall carvings well preserved until today.
